Card #1: Root of the Question
Doorway (Divine #10)
The Doorway is a 'lucky break,' a possibility for advancement, the potential for partnerships, love, wealth, discovery. Unfortunately, it is easy to overlook such a doorway, seeing merely pillars instead. The warning is: Look around. You are not seeing the entranceway to something better. See beyond the obvious--stretch the mind, and more will be revealed!
Card #2: Immediate Past
Petition (Divine #13)
Petition is the shadow of Intercession. As in its higher counterpart, outside aid is required to improve the situation. However, in Petition, you refuse to see the necessity. Rather than seek guidance directly, there is a tendency here to play various roles and wear a simpler guise in order to obtain what is needed. Petition takes on the appearance of the child in need in order to illicit a response. Thus there is a call to beware of insincerity, swindling and gamesmanship in yourself or others. Things are not as they appear.
Card #3: Immediate Future
Sword (Physical #12)
The sword is a powerful tool of protection in the corporeal and non-corporeal realms. You need to mount a pro-active campaign to divide and destroy rumors, harmful gossip and accusations. Although there is no need to declare war, defend and safeguard reputations, protect your work thus far, and nip troubles in the bud.
Card #4: Outside Forces
Anchor (Physical #13)
Anchor is the shadow of 'Candles.' Unlike its lighter companion, movement here is impeded. You are carrying the burden of the world and it is holding you in place. There is a need here to delegate, share the workload, let go of obsessive worries and fears and let others participate in decision making and planning. Try to trust in the ability of others. Only then can hope take wing.
Card #5: Hopes and Fears.
Patience (Social #2)
The need to restrain yourself and take the path of moderation. Patience councils you to stick with your plans even when things do not go according to schedule. Let cooler heads prevail, take a deep breath and allow things to follow their natural course.
Card #6: Final Outcome
Sacrifice (Emotion #11)
Sacrifice is a card of martyrdom. You have taken things to the extreme and are now a prisoner of your own drama. Whether you have actually given everything to 'the cause' or to others, or whether you've merely convinced yourself that you have, you are now caught in the loop of self-absorption and self-pity. Beware: better to give less with a happy heart than to give everything begrudgingly or purely out of a sense of duty. May also indicate an individual with bi-polar tendencies. Counseling (mental or spiritual) may be a necessary avenue to regain balance and perspective. In extremes, Sacrifice can be a sign of fanaticism.
